At the beginning of the year, we announced that level I to III of the organic horticulture curriculum had been validated. Today GFF and the Ethiopian government are working on level IV, which will finalise the whole process.
This workshop reunites the Federal TVET agency curriculum and Training material development team, the Oromia region horticultural crop production trainers and some members of GFF. Together, they will develop the fourth and final level of the programme as well as the Teaching and Learning Materials.
This meeting is an important step in our project. Indeed, once the curriculum is complete, the organic farming training programme will be available throughout the whole country. This was one of our main objectives and the first step towards a general awareness of the importance of organic farming.
In June next year, our first students will graduate and they’ll become the ambassadors of a new generation of farmers.
