Amanuel Abate was born in Ethiopia but brought-up in Geneva. He regularly visited Ethiopia as he was attached to his roots and his people and maintained an analytical eye on developments in Ethiopia. In the first part of his life, he was involved in other social projects for Ethiopia and the African continent.

He also worked in television & media in sports with an emphasis on football, amongst other Olympic sports. Amanuel was involved in some of the biggest TV Rights properties & marketing, alongside the best broadcasters and sport clubs.

Amanuel passed away in March 2020.

Amanuel was a great help and advised us from the very first steps of the foundation and throughout its development. It is with great sadness that we announce his death. We would like to thank him for his unfailing commitment.
