Meet Hailu Dejene, teacher and farm manager.

Hailu Dejene is from Ambo, the Oromia Region in Ethiopia. Ambo is 110 km away from Addis Abeba and 165 km away from Bishoftu.

 

He graduated from Jimma University with a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture. He is also certified in urban greenery, beautification and landscapes by the National Assessment Agency.

 

Hailu has been teaching Crop Production & Natural Resources at Bishoftu Polytechnic College since 2013.

He is one of the teachers of Green Flower Foundation (GFF), as well as the GFF farm manager. He’s really interested in teaching  organic agriculture as it is a new topic in Ethiopia. He is also fully motivated to spread his knowledge about sustainable development and about the importance of organic agriculture for the future.

During his free time, he likes to read and play football.
