Dereje Negasa is from Gurudu region in Ethiopia. Gurudu is 262 km away from Addis Abeba and 165 km away from Bishoftu.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Plant Science and he is also certified in horticulture crops production.
Dereje has been teaching Crop Production & Natural Resources at Bishoftu Polytechnic College for several years and he is one of the teachers of the Green Flower Foundation Class.
Dereje is against the use of synthetic fertilizer and pesticides. He wants to decrease the use of chemical products in Ethiopia thanks to sustainable and organic agriculture. Dereje really believes that GFF’s project can have an impact in Ethiopia and make a change. For that reason, he likes to teach students about organic horticulture theoretically but also practically in the Green Flower Foundation’s farm.
During his free time Dereje likes to read and admire the nature.
